This earned him the nickname “addition man” and he was always more than eager to help. Richard also volunteered his time for many community service projects and to Wilmington Little League where he was President for several years. Richard was very involved at St. Dorothy’s Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years and helped with their fundraising events.
In his spare time, Richard enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his family especially his grandchildren; they had their grandpa wrapped right around their little fingers. Richard loved the kids and he would do whatever they wanted whether it was playing sports, swimming, board games, or vacations he was right there to make them happy.
Richard was also known to be and avid Red Sox fan and faithfully followed them year after year. Richard collected as much Red Sox memorabilia as he could wherever he went. Richard’s collections filled an entire room which he was very proud to show off to anyone who visited his home.
Richard will be fondly remembered as a wonderful many who adored his family and friends. He was energetic, helpful, talented, personable, and had a great smile.
