Lawrence A. “Larry” Cooper

Lawrence A. “Larry” Cooper, age 60, of Woburn, passed away on December 29th, 2016 at the Lahey Medical Center, surrounded by family.

Larry was the father of Steven and Nicole Cooper, both of Sarasota, FL.  He was the loving son of Thelma (Thompson) Cooper of Sarasota, FL and the late Paul Cooper.  Larry is survived by his siblings; Richard Cooper and his wife Kate of Westford, Janet Bates and her husband Gerald of Wilmington, Marcia Singleton and her husband David of Austin, TX, and Pamela Manaton and her husband Cary of Clayton, NC.  Larry is also survived by his former wife Marsha Haberman of Sarasota, FL as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at a later date.  Memorial donation’s in Larry’s name can be made to the Department of Veterans Affairs, 1400 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA 02132.

Larry proudly served in the United States Navy.

Charles Benjamin Kendall

Kingston, MA – Charles (Charlie) Benjamin Kendall died peacefully surrounded by family, at the age of 89, on November 21, 2016.

He is preceded in death by his parents Richard S. and Margarita (Bliss) Kendall. Charles was born in Plymouth, MA and spent his youth in South Portland, ME.

Charles was a Korean War Navy Veteran. He graduated from Boston University on the GI bill.

Charles spent many years as a buyer working for Bethlehem Steel and General Dynamics at the shipyard in Quincy, MA. As Charles suffered from hearing loss he found inspiration working his later years for the Boston School for the Deaf in Randolph, MA.

Charles used his love of astronomy to teach celestial navigation for the US Power Squadron. He was an Eagle Scout, an avid sailor, loved model planes, skiing and the ocean. He was known for his sense of humor and his love of a good joke.

He leaves behind his son, Richard S. Kendall, II (Paula) of Sandwich, MA, daughter Ann L. Beringer (Brian) of Tigard, OR and son John L. Kendall (Victoria) of Roseville, MN. Grampa Chuck also leaves Richard S. Kendall, III (Anna), Brain A. Kendall, Samantha A. Kendall, Emma C. Beringer, Benjamin S. Kendall, Elise A. Kendall, Jacob E. Kendall, Eric A. Kendall and great granddaughter Harper W. Kendall. Chuck leaves many memories of Maine and California while visiting his sister, Priscilla Kirkeby and her sons and their families of Mission Viejo, CA. Charlie leaves many friends at Wingate, where he lived for many years. He also leaves his former wife, Lois A. Kendall of East Falmouth, MA.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 28, 2017 at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA.

In lieu of flowers a remembrance may be sent in Charles’ name to Hearing Loss Association of America, 7910 Woodmont Avenue, Suite 1200, Bethesda, MD 20814.

Barbara (Manuel) Clifford

Barbara L. (Manuel) Clifford, age 84, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2016, at the Blair House in Tewksbury.

Barbara was born in Boston, MA on October 13, 1932; she was the cherished daughter of the late James and Lorraine (Fraser) Manuel. Barbara was raised and educated in Wilmington and graduated Wilmington High School with the Class of 1950.

Barbara married the boy next door Eugene Clifford in 1951; the couple shared many great memories together throughout the years. Barbara and Gene lived in Wilmington where they raised their 14 children. Barbara was fondly known as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to many.

Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Eugene L. Clifford, devoted mother of Daniel Clifford of Wilmington, James Clifford, Judith Topping & husband Ronald Topping Sr. and Dorothy Botsch all of Tewksbury, Theresa Miller & husband John Miller Sr. of Lawrence, Joseph Clifford & Charlene, Lawrence Clifford and William Clifford all of Billerica, Barbara Clifford of Westford, the late Michael, Mary Ann, Mark, John, and Gene Clifford. Loving “Nana” of 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, dear sister of Janet Manuel of Wilmington, Patricia (Manuel) Belinski & husband Charles of Tewksbury, Thomas Manuel & wife Jane Kroll Manuel of Summerville, SC, and the late James R. Manuel. Barbara is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Wednesday, January 4th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St. (Rte. 38), Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the family lot at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 3rd from 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Tracy C. Witham

Tracy C. Witham, age 57, of Lawrence, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, died peacefully with his loving family at his side on December 26, 2016, at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA.

Tracy was born in Woburn, MA, on December 2, 1959; he was the dear son of the late Stanley E. and Helen C. (Smith) Witham. Tracy was raised in Wilmington and attended Wilmington Public Schools.

He enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in 1979 but soon after was called to active duty by the Army. Tracy served overseas in Germany for two years before returned to the United States. He was honorably discharged from active duty in April of 1981 and completed his reserve duties in 1984.

For many years, Tracy worked as a machinist at the NECCO Company before his illness forced him to retire.

Tracy is survived by his son Brian E. Witham of Wilmington, his sisters Janet Hawes of Oregon and Beverly Downs & husband Bill of Lowell, his former wife Carolyn (Covello) Witham as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. Tracy was also brother of the late Stanley E. Witham Jr., Eugene Witham, and Dale (Witham) Kleynen.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held in the spring at the Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers donations in Tracy’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Thomas E. Carbone

Thomas E. “Tom” Carbone, age 60, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers on January 2, 2017.

Tom was born on January 6, 1956 in Cambridge, MA; he was the cherished son of the late Pasquale J. “Patsy” and Janice “Jane” (Lumb) Carbone. Tom was raised in Tewksbury and graduated from Tewksbury High School.

Following high school, Tom went to work for Fisons for 20 years before going to work for Biopure, which became known as OPK, for the remainder of his career. Tom’s dedication and loyalty to his job promoted him to Supervisor. Tom worked at OPK until 2014. To keep himself busy, Tom went to work as the Sexton at the Methodist Church in Wilmington; a job he really enjoyed.

Tom moved to Wilmington in 1979, where he raised his family. He met and married Kathryn “Kathy” (Barnoth) Carbone on December 27, 1991. The couple just shared their 25th wedding anniversary. Tom and Kathy had many wonderful memories of trips to the beach, especially York Beach in Maine, holidays with their family and attending their children’s social events.

Tom was an active member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church. He volunteered as an usher each Sunday and worked with the Youth Group. Tom took a special interest in the kids and enjoyed the events and trips they planned.

Tom was dedicated to helping people; he was a founding member of the St. Paul’s Soup Kitchen. He also was a Mason at the Friendship Lodge in Wilmington; he really enjoyed volunteering and the friendships he made with his fellow Masons.

In his spare time, Tom watched many Red Sox games with his family and friends. He worked out in his garden often and loved going out to dinner, especially to Rocco’s Restaurant or Mario’s Restaurant in North Reading.

Tom will be remembered as a kind, gentle person and just a “nice guy”. His love for his family was apparent in everything he did. He cherished his time with his two granddaughters and couldn’t praise them enough. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Tom is the beloved husband of Kathryn (Barnoth) Carbone, devoted father of Dominic Carbone & his wife Germaine, Julieann Buchanan & her husband Ryan all of Lowell, Jacqueline Carbone and Elena Carbone, both of Wilmington, loving “Papa” of Madelyn and Josephine, cherished son of the late Pasquale J. “Patsy” and Janice “Jane” (Lumb) Carbone, dear brother of Patrick Carbone & his wife Donna of Lowell. Tom is survived by his cousin Richard Carbone & his wife Diane, many special friends and colleagues, as well as his beloved dog, Macy.

Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service at the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 87 Church Street, (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Friday, January 6th at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Thursday, January 5th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested Memorial Donations be made to the Wilmington United Methodist Church, Attn: Youth Group, 87 Church Street, Wilmington, MA 01887.

Richard J. Medeiros

Richard J. Medeiros Sr., age 79, of Mansfield, TX, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, MA and Beverly Hills, FL, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 30, 2016.

Richard was born in Cambridge, MA on March 25, 1937; he was the cherished son of the late Nicholas and Victoria Medeiros. Richard was raised in East Cambridge in a large and loving Portuguese family, he attended Cambridge Public Schools and was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge High School. Following High School, Richard went on to continue his education at Northeastern University and Boston Architectural Center where he earned his degree.

Prior to retiring, Richard worked as an architectural designer for Northland Steel Company for many years. Richard’s creativity, hard work ethic, and his endearing personality with people made him quite a success in his field. Richard also ran his own architectural design company for several years and was responsible for designing countless additions and re-designing old buildings. Richard had quite a knack for working with clients, getting a feel for their designs, and creating beautiful structures.

Richard married the “love of his life” Dolores Silva on June 1, 1958; the couple lived in Cambridge and Somerville for several years before making their home in Wilmington in 1966. Richard and Dolores were wonderful parents to four great kids, Richard Jr., Donna, Michael and Jimmy. Richard and Dolores had an “open door” policy at their home and everyone was welcome. They were very gracious to their family and their children’s friends. Richard enjoyed his role as a “dad”; he spent countless hours coaching and attending their sporting events and he was always their biggest fan.

Richard was also very giving of his time and talents to his community in Wilmington. Richard was responsible for helping to design the Wilmington Senior Center, the addition on the 4th of July Building, WCTV, and additions to many homes throughout the town. This earned him the nickname “addition man” and he was always more than eager to help. Richard also volunteered his time for many community service projects and to Wilmington Little League where he was President for several years. Richard was very involved at St. Dorothy’s Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years and helped with their fundraising events.

In his spare time, Richard enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his family especially his grandchildren; they had their grandpa wrapped right around their little fingers. Richard loved the kids and he would do whatever they wanted whether it was playing sports, swimming, board games, or vacations he was right there to make them happy.

Richard was also known to be and avid Red Sox fan and faithfully followed them year after year. Richard collected as much Red Sox memorabilia as he could wherever he went. Richard’s collections filled an entire room which he was very proud to show off to anyone who visited his home.

Richard will be fondly remembered as a wonderful many who adored his family and friends. He was energetic, helpful, talented, personable, and had a great smile. Richard always made everyone feel welcomed and made lots of friends wherever he went; he was truly “one of a kind” and will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cherished son of the late Nicholas and Victoria (Almeida) Medeiros, dear brother of Bob Medeiros & wife Norma of Sandwich, MA, Billy Medeiros of CA, Marianne Muise of Cambridge, MA, Vickie Volpicelli of Fayetteville, NC and the late Nicholas Medeiros. Robert A. Corby

Robert A. Corby “Bob”, age 79, of Wilmington, died peacefully surrounded by his family on January 3, 2016, at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford.

Bob was born in Winchester, MA on August 11, 1937; he was the dear son of the late Salvatore and Mary Corby. Bob was raised and educated in Winchester and a graduate of Winchester High School with the Class of 1955.

Bob enlisted in the U. S. Air Force on February 6, 1956 during the beginning of the Vietnam War; he was trained as an Auto Track Radar Specialist and was attached to the AC&W Squadron. Bob was honorably discharged from active duty on May 1, 1959 and went on to serve in the Air Force Reserves until February of 1962.

Bob married his “sweetheart” Janice Ryder on December 10, 1965; the couple shared many wonderful years together and raised three terrific sons. Bob loved his family with all his heart, he enjoyed the time he spent with his sons whether it was working on cars, coaching little league, or following his favorite Boston sports teams, they always had a good time. Bob was also a very proud grandfather to his 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Bob enjoyed family holidays, summer vacations, and the family trip to Disney World in Florida that they took a couple of years ago; these are memories that will be cherished.

Prior to retiring, Bob worked as a Senior Electronic Technician for MIT and traveled all over the country for work and to train others in his field. Bob loved to travel for business and on more than one occasion he could take the family along and make it a mini vacation. Bob enjoyed visiting Hawaii, New Mexico, California, and Texas just to name a few; he loved meeting and working with new people wherever he went.

Bob was known to be an avid golfer who loved to play and watch golf. Bob enjoyed trying out different golf courses around New England or taking a trip or two to Myrtle Beach to golf there; Bob just loved it.

Bob will be fondly remembered as a great guy whose love and devotion to his family and friends was evident in everything he did. Bob was very nice and friendly to everyone he met and he will be greatly missed.

Bob was the beloved husband of Janice M. (Ryder) Corby, devoted father of William J. Petersen Jr. & wife Renee of Wakefield, Steven F. Corby & wife Patricia of Wilmington and the late Christopher Corby. Loving grandfather of William J. Petersen III & wife Kelly, Samantha R. Petersen, Nicholas Petersen, Jennifer N. Corby, Katherine P. Corby and great-grandchildren Claire and Cameron. Dear son of the late Salvatore and Mary (Walker) Corby, brother of Carol Lamattina of Wakefield, John Faretra of Washington, Mark Melvin of Carver, Karen Barry of Yarmouthport, Lois Manfra of Winthrop, the late Frank Corby, Tom Williams and Evelyn Castaldo. Leo G. Barry, age 92, of Wilmington, died peacefully on January 4, 2017. Leo was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen “Kay” (Davey) Barry, devoted father of Michael Barry & wife Joanne Jaxtimer of Milton, Anne McGann & husband Bob of Burlington, Mary Barry Emerick of Wilmington, Kathy Callan of Tewksbury, Peggy Russo & husband Mike of Chelmsford and the late Robert Barry. Loving “Papa” of 9 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren. Cherished son of the late John and Julia (Crowley) Barry, dear brother of Eileen Terrio of Peabody, the late John, Francis, James, and Kevin Barry. Leo is also survived by many nieces & nephews.

Shawn David Murray, age 51, of Andover, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away suddenly on January 5, 2017.

Shawn was the beloved husband of the late Nicole (Bourke) Murray, cherished son of the late Harold and Simone “Susie” (Ahern) Murray, dear brother of Kelly Murray & his companion Sandy Vallois and Michael Murray all of Wilmington, loving godson of Donna Beaudoin of Wilmington and dear friend of Edward Beaudoin of Wilmington. Shawn was the companion of 17 years of Dana Samuel and her children Heather & Billy Keough and Samantha Samuel of Andover. Shawn is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers.

Mary E. (Conley) Stoelzel, age 83, of Tewksbury, formerly a long-time resident of Somerville, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 9, 2017 at Care One in Wilmington.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Barry M. Stoelzel, devoted mother of Mary Diane Stoelzel of Largo, FL, Edward Stoelzel & his wife Annie of Seattle, WA, Deborah Stoelzel of Tewksbury and Barry Stoelzel & his wife Julie of Melrose, loving grandmother of 6 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, cherished daughter of the late Timothy and Elvin M. (Sherman) Conley, dear sister of Joe Conley and Eunice Gorham of Boston.

Elizabeth “Betty” Peters

Elizabeth A. Peters (Johnson), fondly known as “Betty” to her family and friends, age 82, of Wilmington, died peacefully with her family at her side on January 9, 2017, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Betty was born in Wakefield, MA on November 8, 1934; she was the dear daughter of the late Albert and Marjorie Johnson. Betty was raised and educated in Wakefield and a graduate of Wakefield High School with the Class of 1951.

Betty married George Peters on October 23, 1955; the couple settled in Wilmington in 1956 where they raised a wonderful family of five children. Betty was a very devoted and loving mother and a wonderful homemaker. Betty’s unconditional love and support for her family was evident in everything she did. Betty beamed as she spoke of her children and grandchildren; she was very proud of all of them.

Betty was a woman of many talents and hobbies; she was very musically inclined and could play the piano beautifully. Betty had a lovely singing voice and she enjoyed teaching her grandchildren to sing and play the piano.

Betty was an avid bowler; she belonged to a few bowling leagues throughout the years and made many friends along the way. In her spare time, Betty also enjoyed working in her yard and she had quite a “green thumb”.

Betty had a passion for helping others; for many years, she was involved in the A.I.M. (Access is Mandatory) group in Wilmington. Betty volunteered her time helping others in need and was always willing to go over and above for anyone.

Betty was also involved with the P.E.O. Sisterhood of International Women Helping Woman. This is a group that helps Women reach for the stars and make the most of their potential through scholarships, career opportunities, and help with everyday living. Betty was proud of being part of an organization that was changing lives for the better.

Betty will be fondly remembered as a remarkable woman, helpful, kind, and caring. Betty would go out of her way to help anyone in need and was always there for her family and friends. Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Betty was the beloved wife of George A. Peters, devoted mother of James Peters & wife Dorothy of Derry, NH, Kenneth Peters & wife Linda of Nottingham, NH, Sharon Dudash & husband Edward of Deltona, FL, Laurie Woodland & husband David of Shirley, MA and Gregory Peters of Wilmington, MA. Loving “Grammy” of Valerie & Jeffrey Peters, Christopher & Sandra Dudash, Pamela, Michele & Michael Woodland, “Great-Grammy” of Ravyn and Victoria. Cherished daughter of the late Albert and Marjorie (Scott) Johnson, dear sister of Harry Johnson of Acton, MA, Carl Johnson & wife Carla of North Carolina and the late Linda Maxfield. Kevin G. Robinson, age 50 of Honolulu, Hawaii, formerly of Wilmington, MA, died unexpectedly in Hawaii on January 8, 2017.

Kevin was born in Boston, MA on October 15, 1966; he was the cherished son of Richard and Marilyn Robinson of Wilmington. Kevin was raised and educated in Wilmington and was a graduate of Austin Prep High School with the Class of 1984. Kevin went on to further his education at Trinity College in Hartford, CT; earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics while playing the sport he loved, Hockey.

Kevin worked as a Managing Partner with Hawaii Opportunities Group LLC and for Ocean Network in Hawaii.

Not only had Kevin lived in Massachusetts and Hawaii but spread his humor and impact globally residing in Istanbul and Germany. Kevin may have moved to Honolulu, Hawaii but he was always a true Bostonian through and through. Despite his 18 years of island living he never lost his love of Boston and its spirit. Kevin was a true New England sports fan and always passionately watched the Patriots and Bruins.

Kevin’s greatest role in life was being an Uncle (or “Krunks” for Crazy Uncle Kevin). If you ask any of his nieces and nephews, he was always the fun-loving uncle who always made time for them. He was a kid at heart and the uncle that everyone wished they had. Not only was he a wonderful uncle to his biological nieces and nephews, Kevin was so unique that he took on the uncle role to many of his friend’s children.

Kevin will be remembered for his magnetic personality, contagious laugh, and his ability to always bring fun to the party. Kevin would do anything for anyone; he was such an amazing son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Kevin was the beloved son of Marilyn (Tobin) Robinson and the late Richard Robinson of Wilmington, dear brother of Richard Robinson & wife Monique of Clifton Park, NY, Jean Westerberg & husband Tom, Maureen Robinson-Adams & husband Ed and Kristine Witalisz & husband CJ all of Wilmington, Kathy Sargent & husband Glen of Andover, Laurie Goodwin & husband Jeff of Reading. Loving ” of Lauren & Chelsey Westerberg, Jesslyn, Brian & Katherine Sargent, Janelle & Megan Robinson, Alyson, Ryan & Ava Goodwin, Evan, Jake & Sean Witalisz. Kevin is also survived by many special cousins and friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Saturday, January 14th for Visitation from 9:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 1:00 p.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers donations in Kevin’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave., Waltham, MA 02451.

Lawrence “Larry” Cooper

Lawrence A. Cooper “Larry”, age 60, of Woburn, died December 29, 2016, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, following a brief illness.

Larry was born on January 16, 1956; he was the dear son of Thelma (Thompson) Cooper and the late Paul Cooper of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Woburn, MA. Larry was raised and educated in Woburn and was a graduate of Woburn High School.

Larry enlisted in the United States Navy on April 29, 1975 and was trained in several firefighting courses. He served aboard the USS Bowen as a HTFR (Hull Training Firefighter Reserve); serving overseas for a couple of years. Larry was honorably discharged from active duty in May of 1979 and went on to serve in the Naval Reserves until 1981.

Besides his mother, Larry is survived by his children Steven Cooper and Nicole Cooper both of Sarasota, FL, his siblings Richard Cooper & wife Kate of Westford, MA, Janet Bates & husband Gerald of Wilmington, MA, Marcia Singleton & husband David of Austin TX, and Pamela Manaton & husband Cary of Clayton, NC. Larry is also survived by his former spouse Marsha Haberman Cooper of Sarasota, FL, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Saturday, January 21st for Visitation from 1:00-3:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service concluding with Military Honors at 3:00 p.m.

Beverly A. “Bev” Sullivan

Beverly A. Sullivan “Bev” (Hennessy), age 63, a life-long resident of Wilmington, died unexpectedly on January 14, 2017, at the Mass General Hospital in Boston.

Bev was born on July 26, 1953 in Winchester, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late William and Anna Hennessy. Bev was raised in a wonderful and loving home where everyone was welcomed whether you were family, extended family, or a friend. Bev was educated in Wilmington and a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1971.

Family was everything to Bev and she showered them with unconditional love and support. Bev was very devoted to her children Lisa, Colin, and Mandy; she was always at their side for countless school activities, sporting events, band concerts, and every important milestone in their life. Bev looked forward to family holidays, vacations, and spending time with the kids blasting music, dancing around the kitchen, and cooking. Bev was known for her famous meatballs that were gobbled up by her granddaughter Aria who was her pride and joy.

Let’s not forget to mention that Bev was the “all time most avid” Bruins fan whether it was the “old time” Bruins team, past Bruins, or present Bruins she loved them all. Bev enjoyed watching games, going to games, and sharing her enthusiasm for the players. Bev was thrilled to be part of the Bruins victory parade on City Hall Plaza in Boston when they won the Stanley Cup; this is a memory that will be treasured by all who were with her.

For many years, Bev belonged to a bowling league in North Reading where she had a great time and made several life-long friends throughout the years.

At the time of her death, Bev was employed as a Medical Records Tech for Omni Care North Shore. Bev liked her job and she was very good at it; she had a great work ethic and good personality with her clients as well as her co-workers.

Bev will be fondly remembered for her love of family and friends; she was a wonderful daughter, mother, mother-in-law, Nana, sister, aunt, and a true friend to many. Bev will forever be missed in the hearts of those who loved her.

Bev was the beloved companion of the late Ed Morgan, devoted mother of Lisa Sullivan of Tewksbury, Colin Sullivan & wife Shannon of Billerica and Amanda “Mandy” Morgan of Wilmington. Loving “Nana” of Aria Sullivan, cherished daughter of the late William and Anna (Colucci) Hennessy, dear sister of Billy Hennessy & wife Debi of Hudson, NH. Bev is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and her beloved cat Beau who was always at her side.

Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Thursday, January 19th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Shirley (Bussell) Burns

Shirley L. Burns (Bussell), age 92 of Wilmington, MA and Welch Island, Gilford, NH, died peacefully with her family at her side on January 18, 2017.

Shirley was born and raised in Reading, MA; she was the cherished daughter of Howard and Paulina Bussell. Following graduation from Reading High School, Shirley attended Bryant and Stratton Secretarial School.

Through mutual friends, Shirley met her life’s long love, Charles Burns and they married in 1946. The couple moved their family to Wilmington in 1958, where they raised their two children Mike and Cassandra and Shirley became an active member of the Wilmington Women’s Club.

In 1966 following the death of her beloved husband Charles, Shirley went to work as a bookkeeper for the Town of Wakefield. Shirley was very dedicated to her job for many years and following her retirement she became very interested in genealogy. Shirley was able to trace her lineage to well prior to the Revolutionary War and this led her to joining the Mary Butler Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Shirley was a lifelong summer resident of her beloved Welch Island on Lake Winnipesaukee. Summers meant boating, swimming to the lighthouse, sunsets, hiking through the island, looking for deer, picking blueberries in the Forties, learning to sail at age 60, cutting brush, hundreds of games of Gin and enjoying her fellow island friends; especially Lloyd and Marian Eckholm who were her neighbors for almost 60 years. Shirley especially enjoyed a surprise 70th birthday party on the island with island neighbors, family and friends.

Shirley will be fondly remembered as a strong, independent woman who despite being widowed for 50 years lived life on her own terms surrounded by her family, neighbors, and friends.

Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Charles F. Burns, devoted mother of Michael Burns & wife Stephanie of Wilmington, MA and Cassandra Martin & her late husband Arthur of Ocala, FL. Loving grandmother of Christopher Burns & wife Maradith, Douglas Burns & wife Eileen, Jamie Burns & fiancé Keith Quigley, Jeanne Dascalos & husband David, Daniel Martin, and great-grandchildren McNally, Maclyn, Bryce, Zack, and Madeline. Cherished daughter of the late Howard E. and Paulina (Roberts) Bussell, dear sister of Howard A. Bussell of Brewster, MA.

Funeral services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to Gilford Island Association, c/o Heidi Kephart, 296 Old Lake Shore Road, Gilford, NH 03249. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nichols Funeral Home, Wilmington, MA.

Pauline E. McCue (Ritchie), age 93, of Nashua, NH, formerly of Wilmington and FL, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 22, 2017. Pauline was the beloved wife of the late Thomas E. McCue, devoted mother of Patricia Beaushene & her husband Bill of Lunenburg, William McCue of Bradford, ME and Brian McCue & his wife Kathleen of Litchfield, NH, loving “Grammy” of Thomas McCue, Megan McCue, Ross Blackwood, Robert Beaushene and Jessica Beaushene, cherished daughter of the late Gardner and Rose (Porter) Ritchie, dear sister of John Ritchie of Wilmington, Robert Ritchie & his wife Elaine of Tewksbury, the late Mary Hinckley and Charles Ritchie.

Dennis Savosik, age 73, a long-time Wilmington resident, passed away peacefully on January 27th, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Kathleen (Vieira) Savosik of Wilmington, loving father of Patricia Savosik Meehan and Brenda McConologue & her husband Dan, all of Wilmington, cherished “Grampie & Bing” of Rebecca Russo, Helen Meehan and Katie, Danny & Dennis McConologue. Son of the late John and Martha (Levinska) Savosik, dear brother of William & Dianne Savosik of Wilmington, Peter & Peggy Savosik of Colorado and the late Dorothy Ebert survived by her husband George of Wilmington. Dennis is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends will gather for a funeral at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rt. 62), Wilmington, on Tuesday, January 31st at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 30th, from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Fred was the beloved husband of the late Madeline M. (Dion) Squires, devoted father of Linda L. Minor of Westfield and Karen J. Baro & husband William of Townsend, loving “Grampa” of James Minor, Kimberly Flematti, William Baro Jr., Edward Baro, Jamie Baro, Carrie Zmijewski, “Great-Papa” of Kailey, Keith, Joshua, Samantha, Andrew, Casey, Matthew, Dylan, Brandon, Trent, Ava, Aubrie and “Great-Great-Papa” of Sawyer. Cherished son of the late Frederick J. Sr. and Selina (Robbins) Squires, dear brother of George Squires of Pelham, NH, Barbara Jones of Billerica and Marjorie Lazarus of Tuscon, AZ. Fred is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Frank E. Darling, Jr., age 85 of Chichester, NH formerly of Wilmington, MA, died peacefully with his family at his side on January 29, 2017. Frank was the beloved husband of Helen K. (Peitzsch) Darling, devoted father of the late Frank E. Darling III, William Darling & wife Lorinda of Haverhill, MA, Jonathan Darling & wife Lorna of Allenstown, NH, David Darling & wife Joan of Barnstead, NH, Yvonne Lagomarsino and fiancé Kevin Foreman of Wilmington, MA and Michelle Doucette & husband Dennis of Chichester, NH. Father-in-law of Regina Darling of Northfield, NH. Loving “Dubba” of 14 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. Cherished son of the late Frank E. Sr. and Dorothy (Chase) Darling, dear brother of Barbara Balestrieri & husband Richard of Wilmington and the late Robert Darling. Frank is also survived by his sister-in-law Jane Darling of Chelmsford as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Frank served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War and was the proud owner of Frank’s Amoco in Wilmington for many years.
