Wayne B. Sawlivich, age 59, of Wilmington, died unexpectedly on September 15, 2016, at the Winchester Hospital.
Wayne was born on September 8, 1957, in Waterville, ME; he was the dear son of the late Mitchel and Lucille (Bradstreet) Sawlivich. Wayne was raised and educated in Sidney, ME and a graduate of Messalonskee High School. Wayne went on to continue his education at the University of Maine in Orono, ME; earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology and Bio-Chemistry and then onto Boston University where he earned his Master’s Degree in Bio-Chemistry.
Wayne was extremely knowledgeable in the pharmaceutical field; he was sought after and was instrumental in several “start up” pharmacy companies throughout the years. At the time of his death, Wayne was employed as a Bio-Chemist for the Shire Pharmaceutical Company in Lexington.
Wayne married “his sweetheart” Mary Howard in 1981 and the couple moved to Woburn, MA where they lived for several years before settling in Wilmington in 1989. Wayne and Mary had two wonderful sons Mitchell and Daniel whom they adored. Wayne loved his family unconditionally and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them.
In his spare time, Wayne liked to read, travel, play video games, build and repair computers; this was a hobby that he shared with his sons.
Wayne will be fondly remembered as a likeable guy, hardworking, and devoted to his family and friends; Wayne will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Wayne was the beloved husband of Mary (Howard) Sawlivich, devoted father of Mitchell Sawlivich & his girlfriend Christina Garrity and Daniel Sawlivich all of Wilmington. Cherished son of the late Mitchel and Lucille (Bradstreet) Sawlivich, dear brother of Lynn Sawlivich of Taunton. Son-in-law of James & Rita Howard formerly of Dennysville, ME, brother-in-law of Carroll & Susan Howard of Raymond, NH, James & Lynne Howard of Crawford, ME, and Scott & Donna Howard of Newton, NH. Wayne is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family & friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Tuesday, September 20th for Visitation from 2:00-4:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00.
