Kathryn E. Priddy (Chalmers), fondly known as Katie to her family and friends, age 34, of Winchester, formerly of Wilmington, died unexpectedly on August 16, 2016, at Mass General Hospital in Boston.
Katie was born on October 23, 1981, in Stoneham, MA; she was the cherished daughter of Richard and Kathleen Chalmers and they knew she was special from the start. Katie grew up in Wilmington, she was from a loving and close knit family and was always a very happy child. Katie attended Wilmington Public Schools where she was very well liked; she graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 2000. Katie went on to continue her education earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Graphic Arts from Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA in 2004.
At the time of her death, Katie was employed as a Marketing Director for the Brainsell Software Company. Katie’s work ethic, artistic abilities, and excellent customer relations skills made her quite a success in her field.
Several years ago at the Scoreboard Grill in Woburn, Katie met Jason Priddy, a chance meeting that would change their lives. Katie and Jason knew they had found their soulmate and became best of friends; they also had a lot in common, they were both environmentalists, Comic Con junkies, and enjoyed traveling. Throughout their courtship, Katie and Jason traveled all over Europe enjoying the sights and history of Edinborough, Scotland, Rome, Italy and Nice, France just to name a few. Katie and Jason became engaged at the Palace Versailles in Paris, France during one of their many wonderful trips. The couple tied the knot on September 6, 2015, at a Batman Themed Wedding where everyone had a great time celebrating such a “cool couple”.
Katie and Jason also enjoyed hiking and staying fit. They were very passionate about animal charities and it was Katie’s love of animals that led her to be very strict with her beliefs in being a vegetarian.
Katie was known to be an “adventurer” she was never afraid to try anything new and gave it her all. She also had a knack for decorating and making something beautiful out of nothing. Katie took pride in her decorating skills especially at holidays and special occasions; she was the “go to person” when you need someone to plan a party.
Katie will be fondly remembered for her endearing personality and her genuineness; she was a very special person. Katie was very thoughtful, compassionate, and caring; she was always willing to lend a hand and make everyone around her feel comfortable. Katie’s smile would lite up a room, her laugh was contagious, and her big, beautiful, blue eyes twinkled like diamonds.
Katie’s unconditional love and devotion for her family and friends was foremost in her life; she was “one of a kind” and will forever be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Katie was the beloved wife of Jason R. Priddy, cherished daughter of Richard and Kathleen (Sheehan) Chalmers of Wilmington, dear sister of Alex Chalmers & wife Danane of Marlborough and Daniel Chalmers & wife Meagan of Andover. Loving Auntie of Elizabeth Chalmers, special daughter-in-law of Margi Priddy of Gloucester, niece of Donald & Eleanor Chalmers, Paul Chalmers, Douglas & Claudia Chalmers, David Chalmers, and Susan Freeman. Katie is also survived by many cousins and friends.
Katie was a beautiful girl inside and out, her love of family, friends, and animals was evident in everything she did; at her request she would like everyone to dress casually, be comfortable, and come Celebrate her Life on Saturday, August 20th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington.
