Robert W. MacKenzie “Bob”, age 67, of Lowell, formerly of Wilmington, died peacefully on May 18, 2016, in Wingate at Belvidere. Bob was born in Lowell on November 18, 1948; he was the dear son of the late Gordon & Harriet (Brown) MacKenzie.
Bob was raised and educated in Wilmington and he worked in the Wilmington Schools for several years. Bob also worked at the Caswell Motel in Tewksbury for more than 30 years.
Bob will be remembered as a quiet guy who kept to himself but he loved sports, horse racing, and going to Rockingham Park in Salem, NH.
Bob was the brother of Thomas and George MacKenzie both of Wilmington, Ted MacKenzie of Salem, NH, Betty Hogan and Jeanie MacKenzie both of California, the late Gordon MacKenzie, Roy MacKenzie, Dotty Paggi and Barbara Ahern. Bob is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, for Visiting Hours on Monday, May 23rd from 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
