Marilyn D. (Brown) Deschenes

Marilyn D. Deschenes, age 82, of Wilmington, died peacefully on May 12, 2016 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.

Marilyn was born on May 16, 1933, in Andover, MA; she was the dear daughter of the late Herbert and Marion (Wormwood) Brown.

Marilyn was the beloved wife of Edmund Deschenes with whom she just celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary on April 21, 2016. Marilyn was the beloved mother of Donald Deschenes of Manchester, NH, David Deschenes & wife Carolyn of Wilmington, MA, Diann Anastas & husband Robert of Nashua, NH, Daniel Deschenes of Wilmington, MA, William Deschenes & wife Deborah of Wrentham, MA, and the late Doreen Lazdowski, she was the loving Grandmother of 14 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren. Marilyn is also survived by her son-in-law Kenneth Lazdowski of Hudson, NH, her brother-in-law Gene Deschenes and his wife Joyce Rinaldi of Burlington, MA. Marilyn was the dear sister of the late Shirley Brown and Bert Brown, and daughter-in-law of the late Edward and Diana (Ouellette) Deschenes.

Marilyn was a long-time resident of Wilmington where her doors were always open for the many foster children she welcomed into her home. Whether it was a long-term foster child or for many others an emergency situation, Marilyn showered them with love and kindness. Marilyn was also a day care provider for countless families throughout the years.

In her spare time, Marilyn enjoyed sewing, crocheting, needlework, and ceramics. She was also known to have a thirst for knowledge and was an AVID reader.

Marilyn was a woman of great faith and a long-time Parishioner of the Wilmington United Methodist Church.

At her request Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, the VNA of Middlesex East and Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 607 North Ave., Wakefield, MA 01880, or to a Charity of Your Choice.
